A Nomination Committee was appointed by Mike Child, 2016 CVHBA President, and met in October 2016. The Committee nominated 1 candidate for each office to be filled and these candidates were solicited to the membership at the November 2016 General Membership Meeting.

Jordan Christensen, Immaculate Homes

Jordan was born and raised in Cache Valley. He and his wife, Anna, have three children, Camden 16, Addison 14 and Cash 9. Long time area residents, Jordan along with his brothers, Jason and Jared, have been premier builders of Immaculate homes for over 18 years. They have established a reputation of working closely with buyers in every step of the building process. Each home is custom built to the buyer’s specifications with the highest quality craftsmanship. He loves the process of building and is happy with his association with CVHBA.

Mike Child, Lewiston State Bank

Mike has lived in Cache Valley for the last 40 years. He and his wife, Cherie, have four children, 3 girls and 1 boy, and 2 beautiful granddaughters. Mike is a 1982 graduate of Sky View High School After serving a mission in Montreal, Canada, he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at Utah State University. Mike worked with Republic Mortgage as Operations Manager for 25 years. He joined the team as Lewiston State Bank in 2012 as a Business Development Officer specializing in residential construction and Commercial loans. Mike has served as the Chairman of the Cache Valley Parade of Homes in 2012 and again in 2014. He also served as the President of the CVHBA in 2016. Mike loves the CVHBA and the associations that he has there and looks forward to continuing to strengthen and grow the building industry in Cache Valley.

Jim Beazer, Beazer Lock and Key

Jim Beazer grew up in Providence, Utah. He met and married his wife, Julie Larsen of Logan, Utah in 1983.  They have three daughters ages 28, 25 and 22. Jim & Julie opened Beazer Lock & Key, Inc. in 1995. Jim enjoys outdoor recreation and is highly involved in religious activities and youth programs.  He also enjoys the diversity of individuals and trades he interacts with through his business. Jim has been actively involved in the Cache Valley Home Builders Association since 2003 and has served in various capacities on the Board of Directors. He supports various community activities and is a member of the Lions Club. Jim’s motivation as a member of the CVHBA is his feeling of responsibility to give back to an organization that is vital to the success of the building industry and to get more involved one-on-one with the needs of builders, developers, tradesmen and the issues they face.

Matt Cook, Cook Homes, Inc.

Matt grew up in Lyman, Wyoming. After graduation from high school, he decided to attend Utah State University. Upon returning from his mission, he came back to Logan and continued his construction career. His company rapidly grew into Custom Home building. Cook Homes has been in business for 11 years.

Matt and his wife, Lindsay, have 3 young sons. They reside in North Logan and enjoy all that Cache Valley has to offer.

Matt has enjoyed being a member of CVHBA for many years, and he looks forward to serve the board and it’s members.

Kurt Kohfeld, Zions Bank

Kurt was raised in Logan, Utah. He and his wife, Connie, have 8 children and 15 grandchildren. Kurt has been involved with the CVHBA for many years and served in various positions including a member of the board of directors and chairman of the Parade of Homes. Kurt is employed by Zions Bank as a construction loan officer where he has been for 26 years. He comes from a family of bankers and always knew he wanted to work in banking. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, and other outdoor activities. He is active in his church membership and enjoys the service opportunities it affords. He enjoys his involvement in the building industry and working with homeowners and building in providing homeownership to families.

Wendy Ciampini-Parade Committee @ Board

Wendy Ciampini

Wendy was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska.  She came to Utah in 1992 to attend Weber State University.  After graduation and meeting her husband Kevin, she made Ogden her home.  They have two children, Austin 14 and Dylan 12.  They now live in Riverdale.  Wendy has been an Account Executive with American Secure for 18 years.  She has also served on various committees within the industry for the Cache-Rich Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors and the CVHBA, as well as the Cache Chamber of Commerce Women in Business President.  She has truly enjoyed her association with all the members of the CVHBA, the opportunity to serve on the Board and her involvement with the Parade Of Homes.  She is very excited for the future of the CVHBA and the direction it is headed.

Randy Wall, Wall to Wall Painting

Randy was raised in Wyoming. After serving 4 years in the U.S Army, he came to Logan to visit a sister attending school and ended up staying here in the Valley. He now resides in Wellsville with his wife Ingrid. They have four children, 2 daughters and 2 sons.

Randy has been painting in Cache Valley since 1992. He started Wall to Wall Painting in 2001 and still loves the painting and construction industries.

He has served as President and on the Board of The Cache Valley Cruise Inn Association.  He also has served on the CVHBA Parade Committee.

Jack Nixon, Nixon & Nixon

Jack was born in Del Norte, Colorado and lived there for 12 years before moving to Roosevelt, Utah.  Jack graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Finance and Banking.  He then graduated from Utah State University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.  Jack served with the United States Army as an Auditor at Sixth Army Headquarters, Presidio of San Francisco.   He served an LDS mission (Speaks Spanish).  Jack currently is the President and Owner of Nixon & Nixon, Inc. and  Principal Broker at Century 21 N & N Realtors.  Both have been in business in Cache Valley over 50 years during which time built over 1500 homes and commercial buildings.  Jack has been active in Professional, Civic and Church organizations. Has served as President of Logan Board of Realtors and currently serves on state and local board for Cache Valley Home Builders Association. He served two terms as Chairman of Utah Power and Light Consumer Advisory Board; Member of Dean’s Advisory Council at USU, College of Business.  Currently is a Director on a State Level for the Utah Home Builders Association; Score Council; Friends of Mental Health Court Committee and Lions Club.  Jack continues to actively serve to benefit the families of our community.

Trent Cragun, Lifestyle Homes

Trent Cragun was born in Hayward California and followed his parents to Pleasant View Utah at the age of 3.  Grew up on a fruit farm surrounded by tractors and hard work.  He played sports, camped, horse backed, water and snow skied and participated in scouting activities earning along the way the programs highest award of an eagle.

After graduating high school he served an LDS mission in St. Louis Missouri holding various leaders ship assignments and participated in hosting the St. Louis Temple open house.

Upon returning from his mission he made the best decision that has contributed to all of his happiness to marry his blind date Amy Nilsson. He attended Weber State University earning an accounting degree with honors.  Served in various student government positions including Business Senator and Academic Vice President.  Wanting to leave college with no debt he and his wife lived in a mortuary for some of their time receiving “free” rent for his services of assisting the mortuary by picking up the “non-alive”.  He also started a window washing business for residential and commercial clients buy provigil online reviews that provided the flexible hours and income needed to reach his goal of no debt.

Trent and Amy moved to Logan in 2003 to accept a job in Insurance. Shortly thereafter they decided to build a home on their own.  Once completed and getting ready to move in someone offered to buy the home. They sold the home and this was the beginning of his construction career.  He started a framing business, Framex, and within a few short years grew it into one of the largest framing companies in Northern Utah, serving clients from Cache Valley to Davis County.  During the recession of 2010 he started his current business of Lifestyle Homes.

He and Amy have 5 kids.  The kids rule the roost and Amy and Trent try to just keep up.  They live in North Logan and provide service to local organizations and their local church.

His appreciation for the construction industry has helped him see the value of participating in the local Homebuilders association.  His eyes where opened to the importance and the impact of the industry while attending the international builders show for his first time.  He has served for the last several years a builder board member and also various committee positions. He considers CVHBA vital to contractor’s success within the industry.

Jay Stocking, Sierra Homes Construction, Inc.

Jay grew up in Cache Valley in the farm fields west of Smithfield.  Jay married his beautiful wife Courtney and they currently have 4 children.  They live in Bear River City.  Jay has been involved in the construction industry since the age of 15 where he learned to finish concrete and frame homes.  When Jay turned 22, he started Sierra Homes and evolved from doing subcontractor work to doing General Contractor work.  Sierra Homes has been in business for 16 years.  Jay has also been involved in many other companies around the area.  He helped start Sierra Restoration, River Valley Development, and HJW Cattle Ranch in Idaho.  Jay loves the outdoors and adrenaline.

Jay would like the opportunity to give back to the building industry that has been so good to him.  He would like to work together with the association on overcoming issues that are causing challenges to the industry.  He would like to promote relationships builder to builder and between subcontractors.  Jay is excited about the future of our industry and would like to see the success of others around him.

Cameron Jensen, Cameron Jensen Homes

Cameron Jensen grew up in Fielding Utah. He served a mission for the LDS church in Melbourne Australia from 1996-1998. He and his wife, Angie, have 4 children and are current residents of Hyde Park. Cameron enjoys hunting, camping, mountain biking and loves the outdoors. Cameron has been working in the construction industry for over 18 years in the Cache Valley area.  He also had the opportunity of working for Boomerang Systems building automated parking garages in Miami, Florida. Cameron Jensen Homes was established in 2001. Cameron is a very driven and dedicated hard worker. He enjoys helping clients build their dream homes and in helping them through the home building process. He takes pride is his work providing high Quality Craftsmanship. Cameron is excited for the opportunity to be a part of the CVHBA and serve his community.

Peter Dettore, J. Thomas Homes

Peter was raised in Manchester, Connecticut. After graduating high school he attended Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, and then joined the United States Navy. Peter served aboard the USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 and also served with the Marines as a Navy Medic/Dental Tech.  Peter and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, Michaela 16 and Aidan 13.  The family moved to Cache Valley from Seattle, Washington in 2005 when Peter’s company Qwest Communications sent him to Logan to open a call center. When the company merged with Century Link in 2009 Peter left and joined Jack Nixon’s Real Estate Brokerage Century 21 in Logan. Peter had the distinct opportunity to work directly for Jack in many different capacities allowing for growth in different new construction areas. In early 2013 a unique opportunity presented itself as Peter was offered a position to join J Thomas Homes, Westates Construction making him their Sales and Marketing manager for Northern Cache Valley. Since joining the J Thomas Homes team, Peter has been able to learn the construction process. Participated in developments, successfully entered two homes in the Cache Valley Parade of Homes, launched a town home development in North Logan and successfully organized from start to finish over 30 new construction builds in Cache Valley.

Mike Cardall, Cardalls Insulation

Mike Cardall was raised in Clifton Idaho just 45 minutes north of Logan. After graduating from High School he moved to Logan where he and his brother started Cardall’s Insulation. The company, now in it’s 14th year, began as a small, one truck, three man operation. They currently have 165 employees and run 72 insulation trucks every day. Cardall’s Insulation is the largest independently owned insulation company in the west.

Mike lives in Wellsville with his wife and four children.

Mike has been involved with the CVHBA since the beginning of Cardall’s Insulation. He’s always been happy with the partnership and looks forward to continuing to serve the CVHBA and help further it’s purpose and goals.

Dave Curtis

Dave Curtis, Royal Wholesale Electric

Dave was born in Logan, Utah, but grew up in Maine.  His parents moved him back to Cache Valley in 1993. He graduated from Utah State with a degree in Marketing. He was recruited out of college for the corporate management training program with Royal Wholesale Electric and has been with them running the Logan branch since 2003.

He married his hot wife in 2002. They have 3 children; Jaxon 14, Brooklyn 11, and Jaida 7, and they currently reside in Clarkston, Utah. Dave enjoys traveling with his wife and sometimes the kids. He also enjoys golfing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, and snowboarding. Dave owns and operates the Logan Stampede, a semi pro football team in Cache Valley since 2008. He has continued to play for the team but finally retired in 2016! He loves coaching and running his kids to all their activities. They are all very active in sports and end up playing multiple sports during multiple seasons.

Dave has enjoyed participating on the Board Directors for the State HBA the last few years and looks forward to being involved with the CVHBA Board of Directors.

W. Dan Farnsworth, Bank of Utah

Dan grew up in Cache Valley, mostly. While a teenager he lived in LaPaz, Bolivia. He served an LDS mission to New York City and graduated from USU with BS in Business Administration, minor in Accounting. Dan is happily married to Angie Everton, they have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He enjoys pretty much all outdoor activities. He has taken on running and triathlons, including running the Boston Marathon 3 times.

Dan began Mortgage lending February 1987 with Cache Mortgage Corporation working in the Box Elder, Weber/Davis counties early on, and Cache County since 1988. He joined Bank of Utah in September 2000 when the bank acquired Cache Mortgage. Dan helped build one of the first Parade Homes in Cache Valley and has served many years on the Board of the Cache Valley Home Builders Association.

Ryan Neal, Hickman Land Title Co.

Ryan was raised in Smithfield Utah.  He and his wife, Mindy, have 3 children, Texie, Taydem, and Tyker.  Ryan joined Hickman Land Title October 2005 as Accounting Manager and continues to assist in the financial and title aspect of the business.  Before coming to Hickman’s, Ryan was employed by Nordic Track where he over saw the Accounting and Auditing for all retail locations throughout the United States.  Ryan continues to be active in the community coaching several youth leagues, both baseball and basketball, and enjoys contributing to the welfare and success of those he coaches.  Ryan’s success and philosophy is based on hard work and a team mentality. Ryan is looking forward to the opportunity to use his skills in furthering his knowledge and helping to build and strengthen the Cache Valley Home Builders Association and its members.

Darwin Lott, Burton Lumber

Darwin grew up in Idaho where he attended Ricks College and Idaho State University.  He started in the building materials industry with Anderson Lumber while attending college.  He and his lovely wife, of 30 years, Melanie have 5 children and 1 granddaughter.  He has been in the building materials industry for over 29 years and is currently general manager of Burton Lumber.  Darwin enjoys the outdoors, sports, building, serving in his church organization, and spending time with his family.

Shawn Bailey

Shawn Bailey, Peck Hadfield

Shawn P. Bailey is a civil litigator. He handles a wide variety of cases in the state and federal courts in Utah and Idaho. His specialties include corporate disputes, contract disputes, property disputes, intellectual property disputes, and catastrophic injury and death cases. He understands how litigation impacts his clients. He strives to help them avoid lawsuits if possible, quickly resolve the cases that should be resolved, and win the rest in the courtroom.
